Covid-19 Updates:

SEPTEMBER 16, 2021

As you may have heard by now, new restrictions have once again been placed on Alberta in an effort to stop the rise in covid-19 cases. These restrictions mean changes to lessons with CDDC which we have listed below.

Adult Classes:

Effective immediately, our adult GROUP DANCE CLASSES have been PAUSED. As we have just passed the mid-point in both our Intro To Swing class, and our Hip-Hop class, we will be restarting these classes where we left off as soon as it is safe to do so, and will adjust our calendars accordingly when more information is made available.

Sadly, we will also be putting a PAUSE on all of our FRIDAY NIGHT SOCIAL DANCES, effective immediately. We will make sure that we announce their return as soon as we are able.

With regard to PRIVATE LESSONS, we are able to CONTINUE with one-on-one lessons, but due to our shared space, we are requiring all students who attend Private Dance Lessons to show proof of vaccination to their instructor in order to continue their lessons for the time being. For privacy assurances, we will NOT be keeping a copy of your vaccine records, and all information that is collected will be stored securely.

While in the studio, unless you are dancing, you MUST remain masked.

We will also ensure that there is sufficient distance between all students.

We understand that some of you may not be vaccinated yet, and some may have plans to not be vaccinated at all, and we respect your choice. We ask that you also understand the position that we are in as social dance instructors, and the responsibility that we have to all of our students. If you are eligible for vaccination, and are not currently vaccinated, for the moment we will need to put a pause on your lessons until the strain on Alberta's health care system is relieved enough to see a lift in restrictions.

Youth Classes:

Because youth extracurriculars are still permitted within limited capacity restrictions, our YOUTH DANCE PROGRAM will move forward as planned on September 25, 2021, with a newly designed curriculum, created specifically to ensure there is sufficient distancing between all students.

All students must remain masked while in class.

Any parents who wish to stay to view classes must also show proof of vaccination for themselves, and remain masked for the duration of the class.

We understand that this is a lot of information to take in, and are more than happy to answer any questions you may have. If we can provide any clarification, please don't hesitate to contact us.

In the meantime, stay safe and healthy.

We're all in this together.

The CDDC Team

As Covid-19 continues to spread, it is more important than ever to ensure that you and your loved ones are kept safe. Please take a look at the measures we have in place to keep our students, our team and all of our collective loved ones healthy as we navigate dance lessons during this time.

-If you are sick, or experiencing any symptoms (no matter how mild) we ask that you please stay home. We will do the same, and give you as much notice as possible in an attempt to cause as little inconvenience to your schedule and time as possible.

-Upon arrival to your dance lesson, all students are expected to wash their hands thoroughly. Your instructors will be doing the same before and after each lesson.

-Masks or other appropriate face coverings are MANDATORY for all instructors and students during dance lessons. If for any reason you are unable/unwilling to wear a mask, please refrain from attending dance lessons at this time.

-Hand-sanitizing stations are located throughout the facility. We ask that all students use them as frequently as possible, and we promise to do the same.

-Touchless temperatures are taken for all students upon entry. If it is noted that any student has a fever, their dance lesson will be rescheduled.

-Group Dance Class size limits have been drastically lowered to allow for safe distance between students and instructors. With this change, we are also asking that our students refrain from switching partners (where applicable) during class. Until further notice, we will be capping all Group Dance Classes at no-more-than 10 students.

-We will not be permitting drop-ins to our dance classes at this time. To ensure we do not go over our safe-capacity, pre-registration is necessary for all dance classes.

We're all in this together, and if we all do our part, we'll see the other side soon.
