Beginner Jive Dance Classes in Calgary — August 2026 Ready to bring more energy, confidence, and fun to the dance floor? Join Christifer Duxbury for a four-week Level One Jive course in Calgary, designed to introduce dancers to the lively movement, easily recognizable rhythm, and upbeat character of Jive. Throughout the course, you’ll learn the essential timing, footwork, partnering skills, and beginner-friendly patterns needed to start dancing Jive with confidence. Each week will build on the last, giving you time to practise, develop your coordination, and become more comfortable moving with a partner. Whether you’re exploring partner dancing for the first time, returning after some time away, or looking to add Jive to your dance repertoire, this course offers a welcoming and supportive place to learn. Class Dates and Location Mondays at 7:00 PM August 10, 17, 24 & 31, 2026 Location: Ballroom & Country Dance Studio (121C 17 Avenue NE, Calgary, Alberta) Registration: Four-week course: $60 per person Couples registration: $100 per couple A $20 drop-in option is available for the first class on August 10 only, providing space remains available. Advance registration is strongly recommended. Registering for the full course ensures that you can attend all four progressive classes and build your skills from week to week. Put Your New Jive Skills into Practice Students will also have an opportunity to enjoy a full evening of social dancing during the course! Join us for the Christifer Duxbury Dance Collective Social Dance on: Friday, August 21, 2026 from 8:00 PM–12:00 AM The social will be held at the same location, and will feature a welcoming evening of partner dancing, music, and community. It’s a fantastic opportunity to practise what you’ve been learning, meet other Calgary dancers, and enjoy a night out on the dance floor. Social dance admission and complete event details will be announced separately. Capacity is limited, so watch for registration information and reserve your place early.
